ASSOCIATE IN NAUTICAL SCIENCE(INTERMEDIATE)
In accordance with STCW manila convention, Ratings and Officers in the Deck are mandated to attain this training as part of the minimum requirement for officers in charge of the navigational watch. Upon satisfactory, grandaunts will be able to demonstrate the standard of competence required to undertake at the operational level duty of navigation, they will be able to carry out cargo handling and stowage functions and also the competence required staring a marine craft of 500 gross tonnages near coastal voyage area.
Course Objectives:
The training course is designed to provide basic knowledge and competency to prospective deck trainees to work onboard any vessel deck department and to be eligible for officers of the watch training programs
Entry Requirements:
- Candidates must have attained the age of 18years or above
- Must hold a valid medical certificate of fitness to engage in a seafaring career.
- Must have completed an approved sea-going experience approved by the Administration (NIMASA) for not less than 18
- Must COC, HND, BSC in trade certifications
- Must have STCW Basic Certifications
